About the Role

We’re seeking highly skilled A&P-certified mechanics with at least 3 years of business jet maintenance experience. You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting, and repairing a variety of aircraft systems in a hands-on environment where quality and safety come first.

Available Shifts

  • Weekday Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Weekend Shift: Friday – Monday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on corporate and military aircraft
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural issues
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks, including adjustments, part replacements, and system checks

Required Qualifications

STS Technical Services is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Controller to join the team supporting Kalitta Charters in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In this role, you’ll manage off-site maintenance and scheduling for our client’s fleet, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This position is central to the coordination of maintenance activities, and it plays a vital role in ensuring the continued airworthiness of each aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

As an Aircraft Maintenance Controller, you will:

  • Liaise Continuously with outstation maintenance facilities to monitor aircraft status, total times, inspections, time changes, and work requests.
  • Provide Technical Assistance to maintenance employees and contract agencies to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Authorize and Track MELs, CDLs, and carry-over items; maintain thorough daily logs and troubleshoot documentation.
  • De-Brief Flight Crews and mechanics at the end of daily operations to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations to manage aircraft movement for scheduled maintenance, maintenance actions, and required downtimes.
  • Project Spare Requirements for all Rotable components and track delivery timelines.
  • Communicate with Leadership on all maintenance performed, including via electronic reports or other methods requested by the Director of Maintenance.
  • Schedule Maintenance to comply with company requirements, ensuring all necessary parts and personnel meet the aircraft on time for “A” checks and other maintenance activities.
  • Make Final Decisions on line maintenance actions, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
  • Conduct Quality Control Reviews of deferrals from previous shifts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Update Operations and Quality Departments on maintenance status changes to ensure real-time aircraft status is communicated to Flight Operations, Crew Scheduling, Sales, and Quality Control.
  • Organize Maintenance Paperwork for Quality Control review, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licenses: A&P Certificate and a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in large fixed-wing aircraft maintenance. Boeing 727 and 737 experience preferred.

Position Summary:

Performs structural repairs and fabrication of parts.  Ability to perform repairs per aircraft SRM and/or engineering dispositions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follows approved repair/modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points
  • Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment specified in technical manuals.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations.
  • Submits completed work to Quality Assurance for final/in progress inspection and recertification of airworthiness.
  • Bolts, screws, or rivets accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies.
  • Cuts, trims, and files parts, and verifies fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Drills holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies.
  • Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points.
  • Able to identify bolts, screws, rivets and various fasteners used to support or assemble components.
  • Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Provide information and documentation for engineering requests.
  • Comply with repair station procedures (RSM /QCM) and company policies (SOP) when performing aircraft or component maintenance.

Aircraft Composites Technicians

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Composites Technicians in Macon, Georgia.

Job Summary:

Examines, repairs, assembles, and tests aircraft accessories, such as engines, power brake units, auxiliary electric motors, spark igniters, valves, pumps, fuselage, wings, and oil and fuel tanks, using hand tools and testing devices, and following shop orders and manufacturer’s specifications.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in at least one aircraft type.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc.
  • Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
  • Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary.
  • Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Consults the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process.
  • Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework; performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing all designated operations.
  • Submits completed/in-progress work to Maintenance Lead for review; submits to Quality Assurance for final/in-progress inspection and re-certification of airworthiness.
  • Provides supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data, as requested.
  • Properly accounts for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Comply with repair station procedures (RSM /QCM) and company policies (SOP) when performing aircraft or component maintenance.

Aircraft Upholstery Technician Jobs

STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Upholstery Technicians to join a dynamic maintenance team in Moline, Illinois. This is a first-shift position with overtime available and long-term growth potential in a clean, team-oriented environment.

Position Overview:

As an Aircraft Upholstery Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating, refurbishing, and repairing aircraft interior furnishings with precision and craftsmanship. You’ll work on high-end aircraft interiors including seat cushions, panels, and trim, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and FAA standards.

Shift Details:

  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Overtime: Available as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, pattern, and sew aircraft seating components (as needed)
  • Strip and re-cover interior panels with approved materials
  • Repair damaged furnishings according to instructions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety protocols and quality control procedures
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace

Physical Requirements:

  • Routinely lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Stand for extended periods and perform frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and stooping
  • Work in confined spaces, elevated environments, and noisy conditions
  • Good visual acuity and finger dexterity
  • Ability to work around products and materials related to aircraft maintenance
  • Must meet airport badge and access requirements (AOA eligibility required)

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of upholstery experience in aviation, automotive, marine, or furniture industries
  • Experience with foam work, seat buildup/disassembly, and upholstery assembly preferred
  • Must supply minimum tooling required for the role
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts and overtime when needed
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
