STS Technical Services is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Controller to join the team supporting Kalitta Charters in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In this role, you’ll manage off-site maintenance and scheduling for our client’s fleet, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This position is central to the coordination of maintenance activities, and it plays a vital role in ensuring the continued airworthiness of each aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

As an Aircraft Maintenance Controller, you will:

  • Liaise Continuously with outstation maintenance facilities to monitor aircraft status, total times, inspections, time changes, and work requests.
  • Provide Technical Assistance to maintenance employees and contract agencies to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Authorize and Track MELs, CDLs, and carry-over items; maintain thorough daily logs and troubleshoot documentation.
  • De-Brief Flight Crews and mechanics at the end of daily operations to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations to manage aircraft movement for scheduled maintenance, maintenance actions, and required downtimes.
  • Project Spare Requirements for all Rotable components and track delivery timelines.
  • Communicate with Leadership on all maintenance performed, including via electronic reports or other methods requested by the Director of Maintenance.
  • Schedule Maintenance to comply with company requirements, ensuring all necessary parts and personnel meet the aircraft on time for “A” checks and other maintenance activities.
  • Make Final Decisions on line maintenance actions, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
  • Conduct Quality Control Reviews of deferrals from previous shifts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Update Operations and Quality Departments on maintenance status changes to ensure real-time aircraft status is communicated to Flight Operations, Crew Scheduling, Sales, and Quality Control.
  • Organize Maintenance Paperwork for Quality Control review, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licenses: A&P Certificate and a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in large fixed-wing aircraft maintenance. Boeing 727 and 737 experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and frequent use of hands for computer and phone use.

Work Environment

  • Location: Based at Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, Michigan, with no remote work option.
  • Schedule: Full-time with mandatory overtime as needed; applicants must be flexible and available to meet the demands of this dynamic role.

A&P Mechanics

STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Mechanics in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct  maintenance checks on B727, and B737 aircraft
  • Maintain contact with Maintenance Control regarding the aircraft condition. Communicate, forward copies of repair information to Maintenance Control as work is completed
  • Send original paperwork to Aircraft Records on a daily basis. Troubleshoot, repair defects and complete all return to service paperwork
  • Maintain current inventory of flyaway kits, including serviceable parts, unserviceable parts, and tools. Coordinate the return of used parts. Perform post-flight duties
  • Accomplish all required servicing of the aircraft. Overhaul maintenance, inspection and repair of airframe components, power plants, aircraft communication equipment and associated components in accordance with maintenance manuals, manufacturer’s manuals, including policies, procedures, Airworthiness Directives Bulletins and FAR limitations
  • Mechanics will be required to sign for work accomplished and Airworthiness. The mechanic in performing his duties is required to be constantly alert for defective, worn or failed parts as well as safe working conditions
  • Perform other duties as directed by the D.O.M. or Maintenance Control

Schedule:

  • Day shift Monday to Thursday 10-hour shift and weekend 13-hour shifts (40) Night shift Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts.

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications:

  • A valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • A&P Certificate
  • Wide body experience preferred
  • Part 121 experience preferred

  • Basic MS Office knowledge, computer software & internet proficiency
  • Candidate must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
  • Candidate must be able to understand, read and write English

  • Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
  • Moderate to heavy lifting is required (up to 70lbs)
  • Must be able to climb and use a ladder, work stands, platforms and lift equipment
  • Work within a confined workspace(s)

Location Requirements:

  • Operation based in CVG ( Erlanger, KY)

Shift Requirements:

  • Must be available full-time and work overtime when required
