STS Technical Services is hiring a Vehicle Mechanic (Assembly) in Ridgeland, South Carolina. As part of our terminal tractor assembly team, you will be responsible for ensuring the assembly, inspection, and maintenance of terminal tractors meet quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble terminal tractors according to specifications, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Inspect vehicles during and after assembly to identify defects or issues and make necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and repair vehicle malfunctions, ensuring all repairs meet high standards.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in reading blueprints and measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical skills with experience in power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot vehicle systems.
- Commitment to safety protocols and quality assurance.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in automotive or mechanical fields preferred.
- Proven experience in vehicle assembly or mechanic roles.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems such as engines and electrical components.
Working Conditions:
- May work outside of climate-controlled environments for extended periods.
- Requires PPE on production floors and involves physical tasks such as standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
