Fuel User Group Assistant Manager (Night Shift) Job in Ridgeland, SC STS Technical Services

STS Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated and customer service-oriented Assistant Fuel User Group Manager to join our client, an equipment solutions company with a rich history since 1946. The company manufactures, owns, and operates a fleet of over 1500 terminal tractors and trailers deployed in major U.S. ports, maintaining both on-port and off-port fueling operations.

Position Summary

The Fuel User Group Assistant Manager, located in Ridgeland, South Carolina, will oversee night shift operations, ensuring efficient and safe fueling services. This role involves managing fuel inventory, scheduling employees, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining high standards of customer service and safety compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Technology Proficiency: Quickly adapt to using Microsoft Office and Fuel Master programs to track product distribution and generate reports.
  • Field Support: Troubleshoot issues technicians experience with smartphones, tank wagons, and flow meter systems.
  • Training & Development: Assist and train employees in using Fuel Master Live app and equipment; oversee training and re-training programs.
  • Operational Oversight: Perform regular audits on equipment and employee adherence to SOPs, track maintenance needs, and manage accident and incident reporting.
  • Customer Communication: Professionally communicate with customer representatives and address any equipment issues.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Oversee employee scheduling, ensuring proper coverage for operations; manage daily paperwork and inspection forms.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor fuel inventory levels, coordinate fuel deliveries, and manage inventory records.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address team issues and handle customer complaints related to fueling services.
  • Safety Compliance: Develop understanding of spill response procedures, conduct training, and maintain communication with corporate safety director.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work overnight with flexible hours.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a TWIC card.
  • Class A or B CDL with tanker/hazmat endorsement.
  • Experience in fueling/petroleum/terminal operations field.
