Base Manager - Aircraft Fuel Systems Job in Tampa, FL Tank Tigers

Tank Tigers, an STS Aviation Group Company, is hiring a Base Manager to lead our team in Tampa, Florida. If you have extensive aircraft fuel system maintenance experience and an FAA A&P license, this is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role with a trusted name in aviation.

Job Overview

The Base Manager will oversee maintenance operations related to aircraft fuel systems, ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards. This role requires supervising, training, and assisting technicians while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train technicians on aircraft fuel tank maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration tasks.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable technical data and FAA regulations, including 14 CFR – 145.153.
  • Document maintenance activities, ensure proper turnover during shift changes, and maintain complete maintenance records.
  • Oversee confined space entry procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and maintenance data are properly utilized.
  • Verify that only qualified personnel perform and sign off on maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct on-the-job training (OJT) and forward documentation to the Training Department.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Delegate duties to qualified personnel while retaining overall responsibility for task completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Qualifications

  • FAA A&P license required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of aircraft fuel system maintenance experience.
  • Must comply with RSM Section 4.6.9 qualifications.
  • Familiarity with methods, techniques, tools, and practices for aircraft fuel tank maintenance.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and fit into small areas.
  • Strong supervisory and training skills.

Preferred Skills

  • FAA A&P license with teaching experience.
