Job Overview

STS Technical Services is hiring an Experienced CNC Repair/Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brookfield, Wisconsin. As part of the maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal runtime of the facility by maintaining and repairing CNC machinery and other manufacturing equipment. Your primary goal will be to keep operations running smoothly by supporting daily production needs and implementing corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Support: Ensure day-to-day operations by maintaining machinery and production equipment to ensure consistent part production.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all manufacturing equipment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
• Communication: Effectively communicate any equipment malfunctions and corrective actions to the oncoming shift and department supervisor.
• Work Safely: Follow safety protocols and work in a safe manner to maintain an incident-free environment.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in efforts to improve the overall performance of the equipment and the facility.

Qualifications

Education:

• Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology preferred.
• Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance is required.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Familiarity with CNC machine maintenance and repair is required.

Skills & Competencies:

• Mechanical Knowledge: Blueprint reading, welding, torching fabrication, gears, transmissions, and belts.
• Machining Knowledge: Basic Fanuc and Mazatrol knowledge, seals, bearings, shaft alignment, lubrication technology, and CNC machining.
• Electrical Knowledge: Ladder diagrams, electrical components such as relays, limit switches, motors, drives, power supplies, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems: Troubleshooting and component knowledge, including valves, pumps, cylinders, and seals.

Physical Demands

• Stand for up to 10 hours with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Lift up to 100 lbs on occasion and up to 10 lbs frequently.
• Ability to work in a variety of positions, including walking, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.

Work Environment

• The work environment is climate-controlled with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions and electrical shock risks.
• The noise level is usually loud, and appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.
