Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with existing EASA Part 145 and national regulations, staying continually aware of any changes.
- Audit Program Implementation: Assist the Quality Manager with the production and implementation of the Part 145 audit program.
- Quality Audits: Carry out quality audits to ensure all maintenance activities, including subcontracted services, comply with relevant regulations.
- Unannounced Audits: Perform unannounced quality audits at any of the organization’s approved maintenance locations as requested by management.
- Reporting: Report any findings or concerns to the Quality Manager and directors within the organization.
- Corrective Actions: Ensure adequate closure of audit findings with thorough root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Staff Authorization Management: Assist with the management of the Part 145 certifying staff authorization system.
- Independent System Monitoring: Plan and perform audits related to independent system monitoring, survey corrective actions, and report directly to the Head of Design.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education & Training:
- Formal aviation engineering training.
- Appropriate training in Human Factors (HF), Fuel Tank Safety (FTS), and Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
- Experience:
- Detailed knowledge of EASA Part 145 and its practical application.
- Previous auditor experience in aviation.
- Previous experience within aircraft maintenance.
- Understanding of the engineering authorization process.
- Knowledge of Part 21 related requirements and the Design Organisation Handbook.
- Thorough knowledge of procedure UK.DOP-01 ‘Independent System Monitoring’.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Auditing experience.
- Other Requirements:
- Eligible to qualify for and hold UK airside security passes, as per DFT regulations.
- Valid DBS or the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to travel occasionally within the UK and abroad.
